What could a species-inclusive urbanization look like? This project began with an investigation of the bat habitat Rasbranten in Stadshagen, where housing is planned. The investigation resulted in a product for the bat species soprano pipistrelle, a place for roosting where the females can raise their pups during summer.
The complex shape is the result of a form searching process where I investigated the pipistrelle’s traditional roost site. Wood, trees and tree cavities. With 3D printing, complex organic forms can be recreated. The additive production method provides a horizontal structure that becomes a suitable grip for the bats’ toes.

The humans water, the bats fertilize. The honeysuckle grows, attracts night flies and smells like summer. Moths suck nectar, pollinate and become bat food. An eco (facade) system of neighborliness across species boundaries.
